Code of Conduct
Effective Date: January 2025
Purpose
ArcticCon is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or technology choices.
Expected Behavior
All conference participants are expected to:
- Be respectful and considerate of others
- Use welcoming and inclusive language
- Be collaborative and supportive
- Respect differing viewpoints and experiences
- Focus on what is best for the community
- Show empathy towards other community members
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are considered harassment and are unacceptable:
- Violent threats or language directed against another person
- Discriminatory jokes and language
- Posting sexually explicit or violent material
- Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention
Reporting
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it immediately to:

All reports will be kept confidential.
Consequences
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:
- Warning the offender
- Expulsion from the conference without refund
- Banning from future events
- Reporting to law enforcement
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all conference venues, online spaces, and conference-related social events.
